Last night, Natasha Torres and I attended Queens Borough President Donovan Richards’ College Fair at John Bowne High School where the air was full of hope and aspirations of parents and students thinking about college dreams. We talked about how Governor Kathy Hochul’s investment in education makes it possible for the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation to provide eligible New Yorkers access to more than 30 grants, scholarships and loan forgiveness programs. Special thanks to Principal Laura Izzo Iannelli, Ed.D. for welcoming us into your immaculate school - the only NYC public school with a farm that teaches students to learn about hydroponics and micro farming and to take care of the livestock on the farm! Thank you, Katherine Zapata for the invitation and for being so dedicated to our students! You are a true role model for us all! And thanks for my cute coffee mug!
