For someone born and raised in Freiburg, it was an unforgettable experience to witness Sport-Club Freiburg e.V., the club from the Black Forest, reach a European final for the very first time. This is a club that has always worked hard, maintained financial stability, had only five different head coaches since 1991, and is deeply rooted in the region. The stadium is always full, thereโ€™s a strong focus on player development, and many players like Noah Atubolu and Matthias Ginter have their origins right here in the region. The atmosphere was electric not just in the stands after the game, but throughout the entire city. Freiburg was alive, every bar was packed, and celebrations spilled into the streets. My personal highlight: Lukas Kรผbler. A defender who joined the club back in 2015, rarely in the spotlight, always focused on helping the team. And last night, he became the unexpected hero, scoring twice and sending Freiburg to the final. His story is a testament to the loyalty and heart that define this club. After the heartbreak of missing out on Champions League qualification on the final matchday past season, this historic achievement is a true display of resilience and team spirit. The squad never gave up - they came back even stronger. Auf gehtโ€™s SC Freiburg โ€“ the Europa League final in Istanbul is waiting! ๐Ÿ“ธ Photo credits (Lukas Kรผbler): Simon Hofmann for DFL/Getty Images
