It was awesome visiting the Semperis stand at Infosecurity Europe! Whilst there, I picked up my favourite item from the entire conference and got incredibly hyped for another major upcoming release... First, I was blown away to receive a free copy of “Understand the Cyber Attacker Mindset” by Sarah Armstrong-Smith, who was present at the stand to sign it. Sarah is widely recognised as one of the most influential women in cybersecurity and UK tech. She was so incredibly generous with her time, speaking with me about some of the fascinating principles in her book. I’ve already dived right into it, and have reached the section on the "deadly sins" and absolutely loved it. It was also great to hear about her experiences connecting with the police community, a world I am quite familiar with myself. As I transition from policing into a role in compliance, it was so nice to find that people in the cyber/information security space are so open to educating and helping people new to the space. What an incredible person. Thank you, Sarah! The second highlight at the Semperis stand was catching wind of “Midnight in the War Room,” a feature-length documentary produced by Semperis Studios that is set to have its world premiere at Black Hat USA in Las Vegas this August.  The film pulls back the curtain on the silent cyber warfare happening all around us, exploring the high-stakes battle between nation-states, criminal syndicates, and the defenders on the front lines. Featuring insights from over 50 global experts, including former CIA Director General David Petraeus, former CISA Director Jen Easterly, and reformed hackers. It promises a raw, unvarnished look at the immense psychological toll, pressure, and burnout experienced by CISOs protecting our critical infrastructure.  For me, I feel like this will be eye-opening, and a real education into this world I am keen to explore. Hearing about it made me incredibly excited, though a little sad that I won't be in Vegas to catch the premiere live.
