Daily Maverick Feature on the KAHRE Renewable Energy Platform in South Africa (www.kahre-re.com) We are pleased to share that the KAHRE Renewable Energy Platform and its integrated infrastructure strategy in South Africa have been featured in the Daily Maverick. The article highlights our long term vision to develop a large scale integrated energy and infrastructure ecosystem connecting the Northern Cape and Western Cape. The platform combines renewable power generation, energy transmission, industrial production, water infrastructure and sustainable urban development into one coordinated system. At the core of the platform are four interconnected projects that together form a new energy and industrial corridor in South Africa. • KTE.energy Large scale renewable energy generation across 85,000 hectares in the Northern Cape using wind and solar power. • GreenLink.energy (www.greenlink-sa.energy) A private transmission and infrastructure corridor of approximately 450 km designed to transport green electricity from the Northern Cape to the Western Cape. • Velddrif Water & Power (https://lnkd.in/eG5Vige4) A coastal industrial hub combining desalination, green hydrogen production and green fuel export infrastructure. • EcoVision Velddrif (www.ecovision-velddrif.com) A new sustainable coastal city designed to house up to 150,000 residents and support the development of new green industries. Together these projects form a scalable infrastructure platform aimed at addressing two of the most critical challenges in South Africa today. • Reliable electricity supply • Long term water security and industrial growth The integrated platform is designed to unlock large scale private investment in energy, infrastructure and industry while supporting economic growth, job creation and the global transition to net zero. The full article provides an overview of how this integrated system is designed to function and why private infrastructure platforms can play an important role in accelerating energy transition projects. We would like to thank Daily Maverick for covering the project and contributing to the broader discussion about South Africa’s energy future. Article: “Private group’s plan aims to get green energy to urban SA” Daily Maverick We look forward to continuing the conversation with partners, investors and institutions interested in building the next generation of energy and industrial infrastructure. KAHRE Renewable Energy Group Building integrated energy and infrastructure platforms for the Net Zero economy.
