It's time for pragmatism. Today’s European energy economy is driven by the Sea, and Italy tells this story vividly. In just a few years, our LNG share in gas supply has risen from 10% to over 30%, reinforcing how crucial the Mediterranean is for both security and diversification. Energy integration is the way forward: natural gas would also complement renewable capacity, ensuring stability throughout the transition. In this context, natural gas infrastructures remain essential, for our present and our future. It was a real pleasure to exchange views on these topics at the MED Dialogues in Naples, with President Emma Marcegaglia, Director General at DG MENA Ambassador Stefano Sannino and EU Special Representative for the Gulf Region Luigi Di Maio.
