The salary transparency law just slipped in the Netherlands. Your candidates didn't wait for it. The EU Pay Transparency Directive was due on 7 June 2026. The Netherlands has postponed its national implementation to 1 January 2027, and the European Commission has made clear it doesn't accept the delay. So the date moved. The direction held. Here's what the timeline distracts from: candidates already decided. Around two-thirds say they won't engage with a vacancy that hides the number. That was true before the directive and it stays true whatever date the law lands. Putting the range up front keeps the right people in the conversation and lets the wrong fits step away early. Compliance is simply the moment the rest of the market catches up to that.
