There are no bridges to some discoveries – geophysical surveys for a gold exploration programme in Sumbawa Reaching the project site in Sumbawa was far from a conventional field campaign — it meant wading through rivers, pushing through dense jungle canopy, and deploying geophysical equipment on improvised bamboo platforms deep in the forest. This is exploration geophysics in practice. That commitment is what separates raw data from real discovery. DMT India, in collaboration with DMT Indonesia, is delivering the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of Induced Polarization (IP), Resistivity, and Ground Magnetic surveys in Sumbawa Regency, Nusa Tenggara Barat Province — as part of an active gold exploration programme. Reliable subsurface data is essential at this stage of exploration, particularly where field conditions are demanding and early decisions carry significant uncertainty. The acquisition programme and quality controlled data processing create a robust geophysical dataset that supports target evaluation and strengthens the basis for the next phase of exploration. The acquisition programme combined IP/Resistivity and Ground Magnetic surveys across a challenging and remote project area. Continuous QA/QC procedures were implemented throughout the field campaign to ensure data quality and consistency under demanding conditions. The field programme was completed successfully, and the Ground Magnetic & Benchmark Report has been delivered and accepted. These steps create the basis for a structured interpretation workflow and a more robust understanding of subsurface conditions at an early exploration stage. Our team made it happen: Debraj Goswami and JANMEJAY KUMAR MISHRA travelled to site to supervise the acquisition phase. Sonny Y., Yosef Mahardinata, and Saufi Handri executed with excellence on the ground. ajay kumar singh completed the technical peer review from base — helping ensure that each dataset meets the required quality standard before interpretation begins. Processing and interpretation are continuing using RES2DINV, transforming field measurements into subsurface models that will support the next stage of exploration activities. The gold doesn't come easy. Neither does the data that finds it. If you are advancing exploration work in gold, critical minerals, base metals, or other mineral resources, this is where disciplined geoscience and engineering support can help create a stronger basis for decision making.
