Geodesy and BIM in Bochum: DMT at the DVW Seminar 2026 If existing data is to form a reliable basis for planning, refurbishment and operation, it is essential to combine geodesy, 3D surveying and BIM. The DVW e. V. seminar “Geodesy and BIM” in Bochum specifically addresses these requirements. Our colleagues Ivar Chwalisz and Martin Weber will be on site as points of contact for technical discussions on digital as-built models, scan-to-BIM and intelligent BIM applications. In infrastructure, industrial, and mining projects, the true challenge goes beyond data capture. It is the technical conversion of existing structures into usable digital models. Only when geodata is captured in a structured manner, modelled, and linked to relevant project information does a reliable foundation emerge, for planning, clash detection, construction, and subsequent operations.
