BIM in Geotechnical Engineering: DMT at the Expert Forum in Berlin Geotechnical information only realises its full value when it is integrated into digital planning processes in a structured manner. This is particularly true for complex infrastructure and construction projects, where the ground conditions, existing structures, planning and execution are closely interlinked. #BIM creates a common digital framework for this, in which geotechnical data is not viewed in isolation but is made available for use across disciplines. DMT will be taking part in this professional exchange at the ‘BIM in Geotechnics’ expert forum on 9 June 2026 in Berlin. Sara R. will be there to discuss applications at the interface between geotechnics, BIM and digital project development. For many projects, the challenge lies not only in data collection, but in the reliable classification and integration of geotechnical information into model-based processes. Only in this way can a sound foundation be established for planning, coordination, risk assessment and subsequent operational decisions.
