Teen Wolf Star Dylan Sprayberry Reveals Scientology Journey After Substance Abuse Battle Sprayberry’s Scientology Revelation Teen Wolf star Dylan Sprayberry has revealed that he became a Scientologist while recovering from drug addiction. The 28-year-old actor addressed his affiliation in an Instagram video posted Sunday, July 12, after fans noticed him sharing informational content about Scientology. “I am a Scientologist. I’ve been a Scientologist for three years now. It’s been an epic experience for me,” Sprayberry said. Sprayberry, known for playing Liam Dunbar opposite Tyler Posey in Jeff Davis’ Teen Wolf franchise, said he began using drugs as a teenager while struggling with anxiety and depression. He described himself as a chronic user for about 10 years and said he first became sober at around 23. Although sobriety improved his life, Sprayberry said it did not immediately resolve the emotional issues behind his addiction. Roughly two years into recovery, he began confronting those problems and was introduced to members of the Church of Scientology. The actor said he later completed the organization’s purification rundown, a program he described as combining exercise, sauna sessions and detoxification. He also credited The Way to Happiness, written by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, with changing how he viewed personal responsibility and happiness. According to Sprayberry, the book encouraged him to focus on his actions, health, honesty, family relationships and respect for other religions. Sprayberry added that he is now doing well.
