Welcome to life as a #postdoc at DKFZ: develop your own research ideas, design experiments and explore new therapeutic approaches. 🎥 In “We are DKFZ”, we introduce Dr. Lissy Gross, postdoctoral researcher in the HI-STEM Research Group “Mechanisms of Cell Death and Drug Resistance”, part of the Stem Cells and Cancer division. Lissy’s research focuses on ferroptosis, a recently discovered form of cell death that could open new opportunities for treating aggressive and therapy-resistant cancers. By identifying and studying therapeutic candidates that trigger ferroptosis, she works towards developing potential new treatments for cancers such as neuroblastoma and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). In today’s video, Lissy shares insights into her work and day-to-day life as a postdoc. Lissy is also one of the awardees of the DKFZ International Postdoc Fellowship 2024.
