The next generation of national security innovators is already building. DIU is proud to welcome the Summer 2026 DIU Commercialization Fellowship cohort: 21 student-led teams, 68 students, and 13 colleges and universities working to solve validated Department of War problems with emerging commercial technologies and prototypes. Over the summer, young founders will work with mentors, operators, advisors, and commercialization experts to sharpen their products, understand defense customers, and build credible pathways toward transition. This is what DIU’s Innovation with Academia is about: connecting mission-driven students, university innovation, and DoW needs to accelerate real-world capabilities for the warfighter.
