I joined LinkedIn in 2017. Why? Because every one in my college was doing. Why? Because it was a popular opinion on the campus that it's must for the resume when applying for a job at gas stations & restaurants. Naive! But, a young immigrant student would do whatever works (or thought worked) to land a part-time job. I never thought I will ever share any knowledge or opinion on a subject publicly, especially here. That changed in late 2024, when I started writing on Africa here. My postings have received appreciation and criticism equally, but probably that's just how balance works. I don't intend to discuss it or what I gained or lost, but I definitely met amazing people from different corners of the world. So, you see it's a reasonable tradeoff. Lately, I have been pondering about other subject areas where I firmly believe I can add value to people. And so, I will now share more about some abstract, some relatable topics. Mostly ruminations and opinions. Hope it connects me with more amazing people. Lastly, I feel immense gratitude for the support I have received so far. I can't appreciate it enough. P.S. Here are the men & women who have contributed in appreciating the 'networth': Amit Jain Akshay Arora Stella Matutina Karangwa Victoria Schorr Julius Mugabo Kelly Byers Guan Min Khoo Jean-Philippe Houssou Meghan Waters Ryan E. colin smith Komal Thakran Manish Karmwar PhD Vinod V Sharma (Hoping to meet everyone over coffee in 2026!) Let's use LinkedIn to build real connections instead of merely some lead generation engine.
