"Der, die, das...Dinooo pay attention!" I remember my German gymnasium teacher in Denmark was saying But I was only thinking about a football match - not the German grammar. It was year 2003 Wednesday, the 2nd of April My country of birth, Bosnia and Herzegovina was playing against Denmark. When I entered the stadion, I was filled with emotions, tears in my eyse. My country of birth was there, playing on the big stage - we had survived. Srebrenica genocide, ethnical cleansing and refugee camps went through my mind. "Volim te Bosno" (Bosnia, I love you) we were all chanting while hugging each other. For the first time ever I was on the stadion watching Bosnia play. Barbarez scored, followed by Baljic and Bosnia won in the end 0-2. Tonight, 23 years later, Bosnia plays their final FIFA World Cup group stage match. I have a feeling Bosnia will win once again πβ€οΈ πΈ Own photo from Parken, Denmark
