Last week marked the end of my summer internship as a Process Engineering Intern at LAUGFS Gas in Sri Lanka. During my time at LAUGFS, I gained hands-on experience in process control, quality assurance and safety as I was given the opportunity to support daily inspections at the Mabime Filling site. I also had the chance to engage with teams across different departments, broadening my understanding of how technical decisions ensure LPG availability island-wide and the strategies used to overcome accessibility challenges. I am especially grateful to Thilak De silva for hosting me, and to Dr. Niroshan J Pieries,Nalinda Kurukulasooriya, Niroshan Seneviratne, Adrian Samarasekera and Ravin Lankage for their guidance and patience in answering my questions, which made the experience even more rewarding. I'm truly grateful for this opportunity to learn from such an inspiring team. The insights I've gained are invaluable, and I am excited to carry this experience forward into my degree and future projects.
