The State of AI Monetization 2026 is live. A year ago, the conversation across the market was whether AI monetization mattered. This year, it's about whether the operating model underneath it can hold — and the report digs into what's actually breaking when it doesn't. The report is built from a survey of 631 senior leaders in finance, product, and engineering across six markets. Some of what it found: — Margin protection is now the leading driver of AI commercial strategy at 35%, ahead of growth, customer pressure, and speed to market. — Only 8% of senior leaders are fully confident they understand the true cost-to-serve of their AI features. — 61% say forecasting AI usage and revenue has gotten harder, not easier, since they started monetizing it. — There is no dominant pricing model. Five approaches compete, none holding a clear majority. The category is past the question of whether AI monetization matters. The work now is making it run.
