The corporate perimeter is dead. Most organisations just haven't admitted it yet. For decades, cybersecurity was built around a simple assumption: Keep the bad actors outside. Protect the network. Trust what sits inside. That model made sense when users, devices and applications lived within clearly defined boundaries. But those boundaries no longer exist. Your workforce is remote. Your applications are in the cloud. Your suppliers have access. Your data moves constantly. Yet many organisations are still protecting modern businesses with security models designed for a world that disappeared years ago. That's where the risk sits. The question is no longer: "Can attackers get inside?" The reality is they probably already can. Stolen credentials. Compromised devices. Third-party access. Session hijacking. The focus now must be limiting trust, not expanding it. This is why Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) is gaining momentum. Access is earned. Continuously verified. And limited to exactly what is needed. Nothing more. The biggest cybersecurity shift happening today isn't another tool. It's the death of the assumption that anyone should be trusted simply because they're connected to the network.
