From one of our early timber projects, the School and Hall in Klaus, Vorarlberg (2002), to highly prefabricated timber construction systems such as the TUM Campus at the Olympic Park in Munich, DTFLR has continuously expanded its expertise in designing resource-efficient, adaptable and future-ready architecture. We have learned that prefabricated timber construction offers scalable solutions for diverse building typologies, from schools to industrial buildings. By working with a system-based approach, buildings can remain functional, adaptable and future-proof over the long term. At the same time, prefabricated construction can contribute significantly to more sustainable building, provided circular principles are embedded in the system from the outset. Since then, this expertise has been developed through a series of sports, education and public building projects, including Kaltensteinhalle, the Gilles Boutantin Sports Centre in Cormeilles-en-Parisis, and the Cultural and Sports Centre in Plankstadt, currently under construction.
