For the Lycée Tani Malandi in the French overseas department of Mayotte, we are designing a large-scale educational village for over 2,000 students. The project integrates regenerative principles by using local materials such as bamboo, earth bricks, and basalt, significantly reducing the building's carbon footprint. The design honors Mahoran tradition, with bamboo facades and large roof overhangs providing passive cooling. These shaded galleries and courtyards create comfortable, communicative spaces for learning. By involving the local community, the project facilitates knowledge transfer and preserves cultural building techniques. This approach aims to create an inspiring learning environment that supports social and economic sustainability, positioning it as a potential model for regenerative architecture in tropical regions.
