"MR. RFID" @Siemens 🌐 | Transparency in automation and logistics – let’s talk RFID!

It all started with my very first RFID project as an R&D engineer in 1996...   I was chatting recently with a colleague about how my RFID journey started, and I couldn’t help but remember my very first project.   I was part of a team bringing the MIFARE technology into industrial automation. We were developing the SIMATIC MOBY E system. Back then, HF RFID was often working on low frequencies like 134 kHz. So 13,56 MHz was not so common, but soon it was further developed to provide first “long-range” RFID.   It was very different from today, where RFID is a core part of digital industries and process automation. Even more important, it also brings transparency in worldwide logistics chains.   It’s amazing to see how much RFID has evolved over the years. Every year, it gets faster, smarter, and more integrated. Looking back, I can honestly say I don’t regret choosing this path.   For those of you working with RFID, what was your first project in this field that started your RFID expert journey? 🤔
