Recently, I carried out a ๐ƒ๐š๐ญ๐š ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐“๐ž๐œ๐ก ๐€๐ฎ๐๐ข๐ญ for a prospective client of mine to evaluate their marketing and customer data assets, and how theyโ€™re currently captured, stored, integrated and governed. This is a stand alone, obligation-free service I offer to assess existing tools and data infrastructure to determine the readiness for implementation of advanced analytical methods such as ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ค๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Œ๐ข๐ฑ ๐Œ๐จ๐๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  and ๐ˆ๐ง๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐“๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ . My final recommendations provided the client with a practical roadmap based on the findings, which included ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ญ-๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ฆ ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ฑ๐ž๐ฌ (tracking adjustments, taxonomy clean-up, etc.), ๐ฆ๐ž๐๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ-๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ฆ ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ (e.g. better alignment of owned and paid data streams), as well as ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐ข๐œ ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ฌ around warehouse consolidation and platforms integration. As to the modelling approach, I suggested that they started with Meta's ๐‘๐จ๐›๐ฒ๐งย as a way to build confidence in the approach and lay the foundations for future optimisation. Over time, I said, I could help them explore different approaches like ๐๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐š๐ง, perhaps using something like Google's ๐Œ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐š๐ง once they had the right data infrastructure and internal capability in place. Their response was adamant: if itโ€™s not a ๐๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐š๐งย solution based on ๐Œ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐š๐ง from the start, itโ€™s not good enough. So it's ๐Œ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐š๐ง ๐จ๐ซ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ! That exchange really stuck with me and got me wondering whether ๐Œ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐š๐ง is somewhat perceived as being superior to ๐‘๐จ๐›๐ฒ๐ง.
