Recently, I carried out a ๐๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐ก ๐๐ฎ๐๐ข๐ญ for a prospective client of mine to evaluate their marketing and customer data assets, and how theyโre currently captured, stored, integrated and governed. This is a stand alone, obligation-free service I offer to assess existing tools and data infrastructure to determine the readiness for implementation of advanced analytical methods such as ๐๐๐ซ๐ค๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ฑ ๐๐จ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ and ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ . My final recommendations provided the client with a practical roadmap based on the findings, which included ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ญ-๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ฑ๐๐ฌ (tracking adjustments, taxonomy clean-up, etc.), ๐ฆ๐๐๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ-๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฆ ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ (e.g. better alignment of owned and paid data streams), as well as ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฌ around warehouse consolidation and platforms integration. As to the modelling approach, I suggested that they started with Meta's ๐๐จ๐๐ฒ๐งย as a way to build confidence in the approach and lay the foundations for future optimisation. Over time, I said, I could help them explore different approaches like ๐๐๐ฒ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ง, perhaps using something like Google's ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ง once they had the right data infrastructure and internal capability in place. Their response was adamant: if itโs not a ๐๐๐ฒ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐๐งย solution based on ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ง from the start, itโs not good enough. So it's ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ง ๐จ๐ซ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ! That exchange really stuck with me and got me wondering whether ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ง is somewhat perceived as being superior to ๐๐จ๐๐ฒ๐ง. And if so, where is that belief coming from?
