This Earth Day, we are proud to highlight our partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and the impact it continues to have across North America. 🌎 Over the last five years, the Diebold Nixdorf Foundation has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to support reforestation and restoration projects throughout the region. Together, these efforts have resulted in the planting of more than 43,000 trees, helping restore ecosystems, support biodiversity, and strengthen community resilience. One recent example of this work is in Canada, following the devastating 2021 Lytton fire in British Columbia. Large portions of the Nicola Valley Watershed were left severely damaged, increasing risks of flooding and erosion. With guidance from the Nlaka’pamux Nation, trees were planted to restore forests and help heal the watershed. In total, 7,143 trees were planted, with an estimated 1,657 metric tons of CO2 sequestered over the next 40 years. These trees will play an important role in creating healthier forests, protecting watersheds, and building long-term resilience for the communities most affected. Protecting and restoring nature is an essential part of building a more sustainable future. We are grateful to our partners and communities who make this work possible.
