As we take a moment this month to honor women and their contributions, gifts, talents and accomplishments, I would be remiss if I did not shout out STEAM Sports Foundation’s current scholarship recipients – a group of extraordinary young women whom we have dubbed our “Pioneer Engineers” as they prepare for a career in motorsports engineering. Yassine Coulibaly (Cornell), Jayda Jenkins (UT-San Antonio), Caroline Johnson (UC-Berkeley), Tanmaee Ledalla (Purdue), Kyndal Newsome (Florida A&M), Kelly Song (Purdue), Fatou Tunkara (Georgia Tech), and Najatte Yahaya (NC A&T) In a few weeks, we will take them to Michigan for their second “Immersion Tour”. There they will experience a day at several General Motors facilities as well as introductions to inspiring leaders and mentors within that community. Last fall the group had another Immersion Tour in North Carolina where they got behind the scenes at an NHRA race and visited Hendrick Motorsports and GM’s Tech & Research Center for motorsports. If you care to listen to a few short soundbites from the students about that experience, go to our YouTube channel and check out what the students were saying about their experience: https://lnkd.in/ewSX-Drq #cornellengineering #utsaengineering #UCBengineering #FAMUengineering #Purdueengineering #georgiatechengineering #ncatengineering #womeninmotorsportsna #foxxtecca #gmmotorsports #hendrickmotorsports #nascar #imsa #indaycar #nhra #formula1 #stemsports #motorsportsengineering
