Ahead of the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, I'm struck by the evolution of Spanish football in recent years. Both teams play almost identically: possession, controlling space, direct pressing when possession is lost, and relying on young talent. But what I admire is that Spain no longer relies solely on slow possession, as was the case in the 2010 World Cup. Their pace has become faster, more direct, and more dangerous in transitions. In the men's team, Luis de la Fuente has managed to maintain the Spanish identity while adding greater pressing and attacking speed. The presence of players like Rodri and Fabián Ruiz gives the team great balance, while young talents like Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi have proven they are not just for the future, but essential to the present. As for the women's team, in just a few years, they have become a true benchmark in world football. Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas are players who can completely change the course of a match, and the presence of a large number of Barcelona players in the national team gives the squad a very clear sense of cohesion. In my opinion, Spain's real secret isn't just the quality of its players, but also the system that starts from the youth levels. When a young player reaches the senior national team, he's already accustomed to moving into space, passing quickly, pressing, and making decisions under pressure.
