Around this time, the commencement speaker referred to me as "the future CEO of LinkedIn." I was sitting on Amherst's main quad in a cap and gown, feeling a mix of shock and excitement. One year later, I am building the future of digital work with LinkedIn and Microsoft, working directly with the C-suite. Close enough. This weekend, the Class of 2026 graduates from Amherst College. The expectations set for you at 22 aren't your ceiling; they are your floor. Go out and create something that surprises even those who already believe in you. The world is larger and more unpredictable than you might think. What has truly opened doors for me in the past year isn't just my resume; it's been about staying green. Initiating conversations, offering help at midnight, and asking the straightforward questions in a room full of senior leaders. Keep doing that. Congratulations, Class of 2026.
