How do you move a global sport from one race to the next? With trucks, planes and ships working together seamlessly, and now, for the first time in Formula 1, also by rail. DHL has successfully piloted rail freight from Miami to Montreal, transporting around 50 containers over nearly 2000 km. Approximately 68% of the freight that would usually move by road was shifted to rail, reducing reliance on road transport, which typically has higher GHG emissions per shipment than rail under comparable conditions. Most importantly: every container arrived safely and on time in Montreal. This pilot shows what is possible when different transport modes, real-time monitoring and smarter race scheduling come together. Rail is already part of our logistics setup in Formula E. In Formula 1, it is the next step in making race logistics more efficient and helping reduce GHG emissions, without compromising on speed or reliability. Because when race weekend starts, everything has to be exactly where it belongs.
