#Forschung: Wie lassen sich An- und Abflüge noch besser aufeinander abstimmen? Mit dem Tool #FlowMan hat die DFS im Rahmen ihrer Forschungsaktivitäten einen innovativen Ansatz zur kooperativen Planung von Flugbewegungen an großen Flughäfen entwickelt. 💡 Ziel ist es, den stetig wachsenden #Luftverkehr effizienter zu steuern, Verspätungen zu reduzieren und vorhandene Kapazitäten besser auszunutzen. FlowMan verknüpft bestehende Systeme für An- und Abflugmanagement und ermöglicht eine gemeinsame, vorausschauende Planung aller Beteiligten (z. B. Tower, Center, Flughafenbetreiber). Dadurch entsteht ein einheitliches Lagebild der Verkehrssituation in Luft und am Boden. Das Tool analysiert unterschiedliche Szenarien der Bahnnutzung und zeigt deren Auswirkungen auf Verkehrsfluss und Verzögerungen. So können frühzeitig Engpässe erkannt und passende Strategien zur optimalen Nutzung der Start- und Landebahnen entwickelt werden. Insgesamt trägt FlowMan dazu bei, die Effizienz, Planbarkeit und Zusammenarbeit im Flughafenbetrieb nachhaltig zu verbessern. Die FlowMan-Entwicklung bildet die Grundlage für eine CP1-konforme Umsetzung der EU-Durchführungsverordnung 2021/116 (AF 1.2.1 - Integrated #AMAN / #DMAN), deren Realisierung derzeit in der DFS im Vorhaben FlowMan vorangetrieben wird. 📄 Interessiert an fachlichen Details? As part of its research activities, DFS has developed FlowMan, an innovative approach to the collaborative planning of flight movements at major airports. 💡 The aim is to manage continuously growing air traffic more efficiently, reduce delays, and make better use of existing capacity. FlowMan links established arrival and departure management systems and enables joint, forward-looking planning among all stakeholders (e.g. tower, area control centre, airport operator). This creates a shared operational picture of the traffic situation both in the air and on the ground. The tool analyses different #runway usage scenarios and highlights their impact on traffic flow and delays. This allows potential bottlenecks to be identified at an early stage and appropriate strategies to be developed for the optimal use of runways. Overall, FlowMan helps to sustainably improve efficiency, predictability and collaboration in airport operations. The development of FlowMan forms the basis for a CP1-compliant implementation of EU Implementing Regulation 2021/116 (AF 1.2.1 – Integrated AMAN/DMAN), which is currently being advanced within DFS under the FlowMan programme. 📄 Interested in technical details?
