✈️ Was leisten die #Fluglotsen hinter den Kulissen der ILA Berlin - Pioneering Aerospace? Die Flugshows standen im Fokus. Doch was die Besucher nicht gesehen haben: Bei jeder Flugvorführung koordinieren unsere Fluglotsen im Hintergrund die Flugzeuge. Neben den Lotsen am BER spielt dabei auch die #KontrollzentraleBremen eine wichtige Rolle. Die Center-Lotsen sorgen dafür, dass die Flugzeuge durch die umliegenden Lufträume zur Messe geführt werden und sicher zu ihren Zielorten zurückkehren. 💡 Ein Formationsflug mit einem Tankflugzeug, zwei Tornados und zwei Eurofightern wurde beispielsweise zunächst über Mecklenburg-Vorpommern luftbetankt, anschließend zur Flugshow geführt und danach von den Lotsen wieder auf die jeweiligen Zielflughäfen verteilt. 🛫 Auch im Tower hatten die Lotsen viel zu tun. Während der Flugvorführungen an der südlichen Start- und Landebahn wurde der gesamte reguläre Flugbetrieb am BER - Berlin Brandenburg Airport auf der Nordbahn weitergeführt. Zusätzliche Flugbewegungen, geänderte Abläufe und kurzfristige Anpassungen erforderten dabei eine enge Abstimmung zwischen #Tower, Kontrollzentrale und Airport. Die ILA zeigt, warum #LuftfahrtBegeistert. ---- ✈️ Behind the scenes at ILA Berlin - Pioneering Aerospace: The role of air traffic control - while the flight shows captured everyone’s attention, our air traffic controllers were working behind the scenes. During each demonstration, they carefully coordinated all aircraft movements to ensure everything ran safely and smoothly. It’s not just the controllers at BER - Berlin Brandenburg Airport who are involved. The Bremen Area Control Center plays an equally important role. Their teams guide aircraft through the surrounding #airspace to the air show and make sure they return safely to their destinations afterwards.   💡 One example: a formation flight with a tanker, two Tornados and two Eurofighters was refuelled over Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania before being guided to the show area. After the show, controllers safely routed each aircraft to its respective destination airport. 🛫 Meanwhile, tower controllers at #BER were managing a complex operation of their own. While flight demonstrations took place on the southern runway, regular air traffic continued on the northern runway. Additional movements, adjusted procedures and last-minute changes required close coordination between the tower, the control center and the airport at all times.
