Still reflecting on our C-Suite Perspectives conversation with Van Eure, presented by First Citizens Bank. When you sit down with someone who has helped carry The Angus Barn forward through decades of growth and change, you know you’re going to hear some strong business lessons. But what stood out most to me was how genuine Van is. She leads with a level of authenticity and sincerity that makes it easy to understand why people gravitate toward her, and why The Angus Barn has remained such a beloved part of this region for so long. Van shared some real gems. One that stuck with me: trust your gut when it comes to people. She talked about how important it is to protect the #culture of your business, even if that means limiting how far or how fast you grow. Because the wrong person representing your brand can do real damage. That’s #leadership. She also shared what it means to go above and beyond for customers, including a hilarious story about a wedding cake situation that would have broken many owners, but instead, Van turned it around and gained a lifelong customer. That kind of care is not accidental. It is built into the culture. Huge thank you to Van and Jill Rutherford Highsmith for being so gracious, and to Jay Irby for leading such a thoughtful conversation. And yes, the Chocolate Chess Pie tartlets were a major hit. Let’s keep building. #CSuitePers
