Ein Legende verlässt das Gelände – a legend leaves campus: Despite the heatwave a big part of the DESY photon science area, old friends and colleagues were on Friday June 26th at DESY to celebrate Edgar Weckert's long career as he is about to retire. He started at DESY in 2000 as a lead scientist and served in the DESY directorate between 2008 - 2023. All in all he spend 5875 day at DESY, during which he he shaped the current research infrastructure and pushed for the next step, PETRA IV. Goodbye, Edgar and see you soon, enjoy more relaxed days.
