Chaos, Constraints & Creativity! A huge thank you to Kalpana Ramesh, Prof. Ponnurangam Kumaraguru (PK) Ramakrishna, and Monika for such an honest, thoughtful, and wide-ranging conversation. And special appreciation to Sanjay Reddy for moderating it with so much clarity, warmth, and curiosity. What made this panel powerful was the diversity of perspectives: Prof. Ponnurangam Kumaraguru (PK) brought a sharp lens on technology, data, and public good reminding us that innovation isn’t just about building smarter systems, but about building them responsibly, with people at the centre. Kalpana Ramesh spoke about design beyond aesthetics. About water, sustainability, and civic responsibility. Her stories of restoring stepwells and mobilising communities made it clear that creativity can (and should) shape cities and futures. Ramakrishna and Monika took us behind the scenes of cinema, showing how production design quietly builds the emotional worlds we fall in love with on screen. Their process reminded us that storytelling starts long before the camera rolls. The conversation moved from technology to environment, from films to public policy and yet everything connected.
The common thread? Design is impact. Not just what we make, but what we change. Grateful to each of you for showing up with honesty and depth. Thank you for making Asli Creativity richer.
