Welcome at #InsideDMC, of our series that takes you on a journey of discovery through the different areas and destinations of #DERTOURDMC and shows you what they are all about🌍✨ In today's short interview, we welcome Robin Boom, HR Business Partner International at DERTOUR DMC GmbH   🔹How was the start at DERTOUR DMC?👋 I’ve been part of the DERTOUR Group since 2024, but my previous role focused on HR of the Hotel Division, so the DMC world is completely new to me. I’ve been impressed by the important role our local DMCs play and the wide range of services they provide in destinations all over the world. It’s been great getting to know so many passionate colleagues across the business. 🔹 Favourite office tradition? Taking the stairs to our office on the 7th floor in Cologne - it’s my daily workout! And of course, good coffee is an essential part of the working day. 🔹What superhero power would you choose for a day? The ability to instantly understand what motivates every person. In HR, helping people grow is all about understanding their strengths, ambitions and what inspires them - so that would be a useful superpower! 🔹 Tell us something about yourself that none of your colleagues know. I was born and raised in the Netherlands, and ending up in Cologne happened completely by coincidence. Around 13 years ago, I applied for an international traineeship with a large hotel company without knowing where I would be placed. Cologne became my destination. Today, I love the city's vibrant atmosphere, the Rhine, its many events, and calling it home. 🔹What book is currently on your bedside table?📚 The Tenant by Freida McFadden. I really enjoy psychological thrillers because they pull you into the story from the very first page and they're the perfect way for me to switch off after a busy day. 🔹How do you spend your free time? Most of my free time is family time. I have an 8-month-old baby who keeps me happily busy. Besides that, I enjoy running every other day and love spending time in the kitchen cooking. 🔹Favourite holiday destination/spot? Mauritius.
