"At the beginning, she didn’t want to talk because she was worried about saying something wrong or offensive without knowing it was wrong or offensive. She would say, “What if people find out that I don’t know English? That I have broken English and they start saying, “Go back to Mexico.”" Here at the English Conversation Circle, the people have been very welcoming and they gave her the courage to start making mistakes. That’s a big deal because she is more comfortable with speaking in English now." Juan Carlos and his wife came to Canada from Mexico.
