The latest data released today shows that the number of new homes being built throughout the country continues to grow, indicating building momentum in the sector. Minister James Browne TD   welcomed the figures that show: ✔️8,408 new homes commenced in Q1 2026- ⬆️184% on Q1 2025; and ✔️2,939 new homes commenced in March 2026- ⬆️293% on March 2025 The commencement data so far this year builds on the figures for 2024 and 2025 when a total of 85,723 homes were commenced, representing an increase of 43% compared with the combined total for the previous two-year period (2022 and 2023).
