π½οΈπ A bustling restaurant was a fitting setting for the announcement of the reintroduction of the 9% VAT rate for food and catering services, as well as hairdressing services. Hear from Ministers Peter Burke, Alan Dillon TD and and Niamh Smyth, along with CEO of the Restaurants Association of Ireland Adrian Cummins, on the reintroduction of the 9% VAT rate from 1 July 2026. TΓ‘naiste Simon Harris, Minister Norma Foley and Minister Marian Harkin TD were also present at the announcement. As outlined by the Government, the objective of the measure is to support businesses in these service sectors that are facing increased cost pressures. The measure is expected to support over 150,000 jobs across the country.
