Another broken promise from Premier Panyaza Lesufi – 14 artificial turf fields pledged in 2023 are still nowhere to be seen! 😡 Over R407 million was supposed to upgrade soccer fields across Gauteng municipalities, but the project is unfunded, has no timeline, and has not even started. Young athletes in disadvantaged communities are left training on poor surfaces or not at all, missing out on the chance to develop their skills and escape drugs, crime and mental health struggles. Kingsol Chabalala MPL: “This is a betrayal of our youth. Lesufi is big on promises and thin on delivery.” The DA will keep pushing the new MEC for answers and demand real action. Our young athletes deserve proper facilities – not empty words. A DA-led Gauteng would deliver these turfs on time and within budget to unlock the potential of our youth.
