From April 6 to 9, DEME welcomed a group of students from KU Leuven, Universiteit Gent and University of Antwerp to Denmark for the first DEME Discovery edition of 2026 – an immersive four-day experience centered on the Fehmarnbelt project, one of Europe’s most ambitious infrastructure projects, in which DEME is part of the Femern Link Contractors (FLC) joint venture. From Copenhagen to Rodby, the students stepped into the daily reality of a complex international project. They gained insight into our operations, explored the scale of the works, and visited a DEME vessel to see how engineering expertise, innovation, and teamwork come together on site. Beyond the project itself, DEME Discovery is about people. Through open conversations, shared moments, and direct interaction with our teams, students experienced what it’s like to be part of DEME – and the impact our work has, both above and below the waterline. A big thank you to our colleagues at Fehmarnbelt for making this experience possible and for sharing their passion with the next generation of engineers and professionals. We look forward to hosting the next edition later this month! #DEMEDiscovery #engineering #WhereNext? #Fehmarnbelt #FLC #Denmark
