The Future Farm is here – and we are proud to have been part of it from the very start. DeLaval Lithuania has played a central role in bringing the 53‑hectare Future Farm – one of Europe’s most ambitious dairy developments – to life. As the main technology partner and long‑term collaborator, we supported the project from solution selection through to implementation. The complex, located in the Radviliškis district in Lithuania, includes a range of DeLaval solutions, with the main feature being a 100‑bail DeLaval Rotary E500 – the largest in Europe – currently milking around 360 cows per hour, with a target of up to 700 as the herd adapts. The project also features a data‑driven improvement track. In collaboration with the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, DeLaval will translate scientific insights into practice and evaluate the impact on herd health, welfare, and productivity. Once fully populated, the complex is expected to house around 10,000 cattle, including approximately 4,500 dairy cows, and create around 50 new jobs. Jonas Hällman, DeLaval Executive Vice President for the EMEA Cluster, presented a symbolic gift to the farm to mark the opening of the complex – an authentic copper milk pail, traditionally believed to bring good luck.
