Do you know how your IT Service Desk would contact you during a security incident? 🚨 If your answer is "I'm not sure," you're exactly the type of person cybercriminals are counting on. One increasingly common tactic is email bombing. 💣 Attackers flood a target's inbox with thousands of spam emails in a matter of minutes, creating confusion and distraction. These emails are often generated through abused newsletter sign-ups and web forms. While the victim is overwhelmed by the flood of messages, attackers may reach out through other channels - such as Microsoft Teams - posing as legitimate Help Desk personnel. Their goal is to convince the user to grant remote access, install malicious software, or hand over sensitive information. The attack isn't technical. It's psychological. 🧠 Before an incident happens, make sure you know: • Which official channels your Service Desk uses to contact employees • How to verify the identity of support personnel • That external calls and remote access requests should always be validated through approved company channels • That urgency is one of the most effective social engineering tools attackers use And remember - a few minutes of verification can prevent a major security incident. 🛡️ #CyberSecurity #EmailBombing #SecurityAwareness #InfoSec
