Feeling incredibly grateful after a super evening celebrating the talents of the #fmcg R&D community and also celebrating the launch of our book #untappinginnovation 🙌 So much great advice and wisdom shared and we loved seeing established colleagues from many years, as well as meeting fresh new faces from the #cosmeticscience at London College of Fashion A quick round up of the top tips for anyone keen to get reapplying 💫 the notebooks and pens were out and the content was mighty … 💄 Florence Adepoju made a deliberate call to action for the wider eco system of small + larger R&D teams to #collaborate as the problems are bigger than any of us alone, and referenced the power of early kindnesses of big business to those first starting out and scaling up ✈️ Michael Hughes shared his super respectful “airplane” approach to management, learned from watching a documentary about aircraft design, ie if something is added to our work, something of equal or greater weight must be removed (everyone now wants to work for Mike) 🗺️ Tamar Kasriel had the audience eating out her hand as she made the case for the scientific method being THE route through uncertainty, an approach we all know and love, and a muscle ready to be flexed in different, exciting context And the panel of Murat Demiral, Margaret Bates and Tim Ingmire shared their perspectives on how the prevailing winds of uncertainty can be directed through conscious use of AI, awareness of of rising sustainability requirements on packaging supply chains, and the power of systemically listening to and observing consumers “in the wild”. Needless to say had Sally Kemkers, Suzanne Allers and I tried to pull off an event like this on our own the results would NOT have looked like last night. 💫 Our enormous thanks and appreciation go to the dream team of Deb Tumilty Tara Mackay Meg Isaacs Lucy Heskins (Oh Blimey) Tina Mallinson Tanita Montgomery Eventality Ltd and the staff at 30 Euston Square 👏
