Uganda’s First Integrated Biotech & Agro-Industrial Park Launched in Kamuli Uganda has entered a new era of scientific and industrial self-reliance. On November 20, 2025, H.E. President Yoweri Museveni officially launched the Dei Biopharma Advanced Agro-Processing & Biotech Park in Namasagali, Kamuli- A transformative project built to position Uganda as a regional leader in pharmaceuticals, agro-processing, and biotechnology At the same ceremony, the President commissioned our USD 50 million cassava starch facility, the first of its kind in the region, with a processing capacity of 500 metric tons of cassava per day. The plant will produce pharmaceutical-grade starch, glucose, maltose, and multiple derivatives for the food, beverage, and drug-manufacturing industries. This facility marks the first phase of our USD 10 billion, 10-year masterplan to build Africa’s most advanced biotech ecosystem-including: • A 1,000-bed specialist hospital for sickle cell, cancer & rare diseases • A Foot & Mouth Disease vaccine plant (100M doses/year) • A biotechnology campus for APIs, excipients & gene therapy innovation • An agro-industrial hub integrated with 3,000+ registered farmers President Museveni praised the project’s bold ambition, calling on Ugandans to support innovation and value addition rather than resisting new ideas. At DEI BioPharma Ltd, our mission remains clear: To make high-quality medicines affordable for every Ugandan and every African And to build a globally competitive biotech industry rooted in local resources, African science, and industrial strength.
