"The right tools can make all the difference." That’s why we’re announcing a new £5 million government funding round, launching this spring, to support innovative agri-tech businesses. Projects focus on delivering practical, innovative solutions for farmers. For example, previous recipient, FA Bio, is developing a “living” pest control that uses beneficial fungi to protect wheat and oilseed rape from destructive pests such as aphids and cabbage stem flea beetle. Applied at planting, it could provide season-long protection while reducing reliance on repeated chemical spraying. Thanks to the new round of funding, many more projects like this one will become possible, giving farmers the best tools to succeed.
