Successful testing supports uncrewed ROV launch and recovery in severe weather conditions 🌊 Testing is now underway, and early results are promising for the uncrewed launch and recovery of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) in adverse weather conditions and elevated wave heights. The USV Challenger, an uncrewed surface vessel (USV) designed for remote subsea operations, is built around DeepOcean's innovative patented Launch and Recovery System (LARS). Recently delivered from the shipyard, the vessel is currently undergoing commissioning and testing for uncrewed operations. Initial results from live launch and recovery trials are meeting expectations, confirming the system’s robust performance. This is an encouraging milestone, as the LARS is a critical component of the vessel’s uncrewed capabilities. Helge Austerheim, Project Manager at DeepOcean, will present the USV project at the UTC - Underwater Technology Conference in Bergen on Thursday, 12 June 2025 at 14:10. Be sure to visit us at our stand 15 and connect with the team to learn more about this groundbreaking project becoming a reality day-by-day this year. #DeepOcean #OffshoreEnergy #Subsea #Engineering #RemoteOperations #Innovation #SustainableOcean #ROV
