India is growing fast in manufacturing, including in areas with high-risk processes. But are we really prepared to grow … safely? Our safety laws are mostly good on paper. But in real life, we face some serious problems: -Government departments don’t have the right skillset or the intent to create a truly safe working environment. -There aren’t enough people in industry who really understand safety and risk well. Most efforts focus on managing paperwork, not on managing risk. -Engineering colleges still don’t teach safety and risk management as an important part of their courses. This creates a mindset where companies try to “show” they are safe instead of actually being safe. Big reports are written to pass audits, but they often don’t help when an actual accident happens. We need to shift from just ticking boxes to really understanding and managing risk. From paperwork safety to real, day-to-day safety. If India wants to be a global manufacturing leader, we must invest in people, skills, and a safety culture that truly works; not just looks good. Because safety is not a document. It’s a habit. #IndustrialSafety #WorkplaceSafety #SafetyCulture #Compliance
