A small but genuinely useful thing most people skip when posting on social media: Alt text. Every image post on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram gives you the option to add a written description of what is in the photo. Most people never touch it. Alt text matters for two reasons. First, accessibility — screen readers use alt text to describe images to users who are visually impaired. Adding it means your content reaches people it otherwise would not. Second, discoverability — the algorithm reads alt text as additional context about your post, which can positively affect how your content is distributed. It takes less than a minute. It is one of those small things that adds up over time.
