🌟 It’s a wrap on 2026 IEEE ICDCM in Xi’an, China Last week, the 8th International Conference on DC Microgrids, 2026 IEEE ICDCM, brought together a global community of researchers, students, engineers, and industry leaders to explore the evolution of Direct Current power distribution. 💡 Across plenary sessions, technical presentations, and workshops, a clear message emerged: the future of power distribution relies on strong collaboration between academia, industry, and global alliances. From DC protection to solid-state technologies, discussions highlighted both the opportunities and the challenges that lie ahead in scaling deployment. The conference was supported by Schneider Electric and Current/OS as Gold Sponsors, and featured valuable contributions from industry leaders, including panel participation from Andrea Quarteroni, alongside Elan Meng and CHI WANG. It was also inspiring to see Current/OS President Vincenzo Salmeri engaging in thoughtful dialogue with industry and academic stakeholders. As the organizer of the DC Industry Workshop at 2026 IEEE ICDCM, Current/OS was pleased to see strong engagement across the ecosystem.   While DC continues to gain momentum, the future of electrical systems will not be defined by AC or DC alone.
