πŸ” Happy to share our latest study, now published in the International Journal of Cardiology, exploring the natural history of patients with moderate tricuspid regurgitation, preserved LVEF and without concomitant severe left-sided VHD. Key findings from 1,198 patients: πŸ“Œ At baseline, moderate TR patients showed a high burden of comorbidities, namely 68β€―% with arterial HTN, 57% with CKD, 40% with AF, and 53β€―% presented with NYHA class β‰₯II symptoms. πŸ“Œ All-cause death incidence was 9.1 per 100 person-year, with 3-year survival significantly worse than the expected of an age- and gender-matched population. πŸ“Œ Severe pulmonary hypertension (PASP >50 mmHg) and concomitant moderate aortic stenosis were powerful predictors of outcome even after comprehensive adjustment These results underline the need for an updated approach to the follow-up and the management of this VHD, often neglected in routine practice due to its β€œmoderate” entity. πŸ‘‰ https://lnkd.in/gC_kVyjE Michele Morosato Francesco Ancona Giorgio Fiore Vincenzo Rizza Alberto Preda francesco maisano Giovanni Benfari Maurice Sarano yan topilsky
