Diplomat - Deputy Consul General of Italy in San Francisco

Seattle mission (1/5) | Strengthening our scientific community My recent mission to Seattle offered a valuable opportunity to reconnect with the Italian academic and scientific community in the Pacific Northwest. At GemaTEG, we joined ISSNAF to celebrate the launch of the new Seattle-based Chapter for Washington State and Oregon, under the leadership of Daniele Piazza. It was a moment that reflected the energy, talent, and growing impact of Italian researchers and innovators in the region. Seattle is a remarkable hub for innovation, and the Italian community here is helping build meaningful bridges in areas such as artificial intelligence, aerospace, biotechnology, and clean energy. In this context, initiatives such as the PNRR, bilateral scientific cooperation programs, and the action of the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco - with Scientific Attaché Romeo Beccherelli - and INNOVIT - Italian Innovation and Culture Hub in San Francisco, continue to strengthen the connection between our research and innovation ecosystems. Many thanks to ISSNAF, Daniele Piazza, the team at GemaTEG Inc. (Maurizio Miozza and Manfred Markevitch), and the Honorary Consul of Italy in Seattle Elisabetta Valentini for the warm welcome and excellent organization!
