☀️The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic maritime passage bordered by Iran and Oman 🤝 In my view, the primary responsibility for managing and securing this waterway should belong to the countries that have territorial borders along it. The United States has no territorial borders in the Strait of Hormuz, which raises an important question about the role that non-bordering nations should play in regional maritime affairs. Respect for sovereignty, international law, and regional cooperation should remain at the center of any discussion regarding one of the world's most important shipping routes. #Iran and #Oman already have established agreements and mechanisms for cooperation, and the countries of the Persian Gulf have both the interest and the responsibility to address regional challenges through dialogue and mutual understanding. To our American counterpart, we respectfully ask that the United States stay out of this part of the world. Iran, Oman, and the other nations of the Persian Gulf are capable of reaching agreements among themselves and managing the situation through diplomacy, cooperation, and respect for regional sovereignty. The Strait of Hormuz is bordered by regional nations, and lasting stability will come from understanding, diplomacy, and mutual respect among the countries directly involved.
