A lot of talk about innovation and entrepreneurship in Texas centers on Austin, and justifiably so. However, don't sleep on Houston. I am discovering some amazing things happening in H-town, and our partners at MoreThan Capital are deeply involved. Universities, VCs, and entrepreneurs are closely cooperating to create a dynamic innovation ecosystem. Similar to Aggie Square in Sacramento, Houston and Rice university are creating the Ion District, a 12 block innovation corridor, to bring funders, founders, and academia together. I got the chance to hear some inspiring thoughts from the true entrepreneur leaders in this area including Blair Garrou from Mercury Fund, Adrian Trömel from Rice university, and Saeed Amidi from Plug and Play.
